Superlative Quality and Style
In the world of Pinchbeck watches, quality, style and service are inseparable, because this is the world of luxury.
We understand that your watch should be something to treasure for many years, so it is too special to be mass produced. That’s why (unlike some brands) we don’t import our watches ready-made from abroad; we assemble them in our own workshop so that we know each one inside out. In fact, every Pinchbeck watch is personally signed and numbered on the inside, by the craftsman who makes it, as well as on a certificate.
It’s an approach that’s shared by our suppliers, many of whom we know personally. We use fine Swiss movements, and the further up our range you look, the more you will find that your watch’s other parts are made exclusively, for us, in Britain.
Modern technology helps us to design and build our watches, while enhancements such as Tanner Bates’s beautiful leatherwork endow them with old-fashioned, reassuring luxury. Just as important is their understated English style: elegant without a hint of bling, as befits such personal and longlasting possessions.
We also believe in quality of service, and dealing direct with our customers allows us to maintain this at a high level.
True quality never goes out of style.
Leather by Tanner Bates.
We work with an outstanding leather worker, Tanner Bates of Devon, who produces beautiful handmade straps for us. The quality is quite exceptional, as confirmed by many delighted customers. John Hagger, who runs the business, is a third generation leather worker. He was trained in Walsall as a saddler and bridle maker, and has since been an extraordinary teacher of leatherwork as well as a maker of fine leather goods.
So, if you are seeking a traditional strap that is comfortable, handsome (and smells wonderful), look no further. The quality of the leather, and the attention to detail that goes into making each strap, tell their own story of English craftsmanship at its best.
Tanner Bates straps are the perfect complement to Pinchbeck watches. If, like us, you feel that anonymous mass production isn't quite right for such a personal possession as your watch, you will agree with our approach. If you appreciate fine British engineering you will also enjoy the subtle understatement of a Pinchbeck watch and the knowledge that it is built to last.
Tanner Bates hand sewn straps are fitted as standard on all our watches.
“I will treasure my watch forever and my wife and I are quite simply blown away with it!”
